Vallejo began painting at the age of thirteen, and by the time he was sixteen, he had his first illustration job. He immigrated to the United States in 1964 and quickly gained a large following with his illustrations of fantasy characters. During this time, he also worked on various advertising campaigns and film posters. He is also the illustrator of several books and collaborative artworks.

Born in Lima, Peru, boris vallejo studied at the National School of Fine Arts before moving to the United States. Since then, he has created a large body of work in the Fantasy field, working for virtually every major publishing house that has a science fiction/fantasy line. He also creates art for motion picture advertising, album covers, and video box art.

Boris Vallejo is an American artist who works in various media including wildlife, advertising, and corporate art. He is the father of the artist Dorian Vallejo and stepfather to Anthony and David Palumbo. He trained as a graphic designer in Peru before moving to the United States in 1964. In 1971 he married his wife Doris and began painting magazine covers.
